About Jenny Hough

Jenny Hough is the Founder and Director of Heart Restart, bringing more than 30 years of paediatric nursing experience to CPR and first aid education. Jenny is a highly experienced Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse who has dedicated her career to caring for critically unwell children, supporting families, and improving emergency response education.

Jenny spent over three decades working at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, including extensive experience within the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the Paediatric Infant Perinatal Emergency Retrieval (PIPER) service. Through these roles, Jenny developed a deep understanding of the importance of early recognition, effective communication, and confident emergency response.

Clinical Experience & Expertise

Throughout her career, Jenny has been passionate about translating complex medical knowledge into practical skills that can be applied by healthcare professionals, parents, carers, and members of the community.

Jenny has played a leading role in developing and delivering resuscitation education programs, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Paediatric Resuscitation (APR), and parental CPR education. Her experience in simulation-based education allows learners to practise responding to realistic emergency scenarios in a supportive environment.

Beyond hospital-based education, Jenny has contributed to innovative healthcare initiatives including the development of homecare programs for children requiring complex medical support and has delivered resuscitation training internationally, including in the Solomon Islands.

Jenny's Approach to CPR Training

Jenny believes CPR and first aid training should be practical, engaging, and confidence-building. Her approach combines real clinical experience with hands-on simulation, helping participants understand not only what to do in an emergency, but why each action matters.
