4
Are your courses nationally recognised?
Yes. Our nationally recognised courses are delivered and assessed in partnership with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Successful participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment listing their completed units of competency.
5
How long does First Aid training take?
Course duration depends on the qualification and delivery method.

CPR (HLTAID009): Approximately 2–3 hours.
First Aid (HLTAID011): Approximately 5–7 hours.
Education and Care First Aid (HLTAID012): Usually a full-day program.

Some courses include online pre-course learning before attending practical training.
6
Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?
Yes. Once you successfully complete all required learning and assessment activities, you will receive an electronic Statement of Attainment.

Certificates are issued through the Registered Training Organisation after competency has been confirmed.
7
How long are CPR and First Aid certificates current?
While Statements of Attainment do not expire, industry guidelines recommend regular refresher training to maintain skills, confidence and workplace readiness.

CPR: Recommended renewal every 12 months.
First Aid: Recommended renewal every 3 years.

Many workplaces use these recommended renewal periods to maintain compliance and ensure staff remain prepared for emergencies.
8
Is there a practical assessment?
Yes. Nationally recognised First Aid courses require participants to demonstrate practical skills and knowledge.

Assessments may include CPR, AED use, recovery position, emergency response procedures and simulated first aid scenarios.

Our trainers provide guidance and support throughout the course to help you confidently demonstrate competency.
9
Can Heart Restart train our workplace team?
Yes. Heart Restart provides workplace First Aid training for businesses, healthcare providers, community organisations and industry groups.

Training can be delivered at your workplace or at a Heart Restart training venue.

Training can be tailored around your industry requirements, workplace environment and team needs.
10
What happens if I have difficulty with the assessment?
Our goal is to support every participant to successfully complete their training.

If you require additional support, your trainer will provide feedback, coaching and opportunities to demonstrate the required skills again in accordance with training requirements.

Our supportive approach helps participants feel prepared and confident throughout their learning journey.
