Workplace first aid management and resource coordination skills
This course is designed for individuals working in occupational first aid or management roles who are responsible for establishing, maintaining and overseeing workplace first aid services.
Participants will develop the knowledge and skills required to ensure workplace first aid resources, equipment, personnel and systems are effectively managed.
Training aligns with workplace safety requirements, the First Aid Code of Practice and Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations.
This course is delivered as a blended program combining online learning with face-to-face training components.
- Online pre-course learning
- Practical workplace first aid management activities
- Training available at your workplace or a Heart Restart training venue
This course provides the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage workplace first aid services and resources.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments to determine appropriate first aid resources, equipment, personnel and facilities
- Apply safe work practices, First Aid Code of Practice requirements and Work Health and Safety (WHS) obligations
- Inspect and maintain workplace first aid kits using stock management checklists
- Manage first aid supplies including ordering, usage monitoring, recovery and safe storage
- Develop, implement and review workplace first aid action plans
- Consult with key workplace stakeholders regarding first aid requirements
- Participate in incident debriefing and evaluations to improve future workplace responses
- Identify individual and organisational improvement opportunities following emergency situations
Face-to-Face Training & Online Learning
Combined online learning and practical workplace first aid management activities.
Duration: Approximately 6 hours
Online with Face-to-Face Training (more than 5 students)
Flexible delivery option for workplace groups.
Minimum Duration: 2–4 hours
Your skills and knowledge will be assessed through a combination of practical workplace activities, simulated scenarios and short written assessments.

Participants must be physically able to complete the practical activities required during training.
This includes:
- Performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor without stopping
- Participating in workplace first aid scenarios and practical activities
To complete the online/pre-course study component, students will need access to:
- Computer, tablet or smartphone
- Internet connection
When you successfully complete this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment including the following nationally recognised unit:

This certification recognises your ability to manage workplace first aid systems, resources and processes in accordance with workplace requirements.
