This course combines online learning with a face-to-face practical assessment session. The online component covers core knowledge and theory, while the in-person session focuses on practical skills, additional learning content, and assessment. Training is delivered through realistic, simulated emergency scenarios, helping participants build the confidence to coordinate and manage advanced first aid responses until emergency services arrive.

This course can be delivered and assessed either at your workplace or at a Heart Restart training venue.

Participants will gain skills in:

o   First Aid and CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and national clinical standards

o   Managing complex conditions such as hypothermia, hyperthermia, shock, and head, neck, or spinal injuries

o   Controlling life-threatening bleeding using tourniquets and haemostatic dressings

o   Administering oxygen in a variety of emergency situations across community and workplace settings

o   Using and maintaining specialised equipment for first aid, resuscitation, and oxygen therapy

This comprehensive program ensures participants are prepared to deliver advanced first aid safely, effectively, and in line with legal, workplace, and community requirements.

As part of your training, your skills and knowledge will be assessed through a mix of practical hands-on tasks, simulated emergency scenarios, and a written test.

You’ll complete a short multiple-choice quiz to confirm your understanding of first aid knowledge and procedures.

Course Fees: $ 295

To take part in this course, you’ll need to be physically able to complete the practical activities—this includes performing 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor without stopping.

To complete the online/pre-course study, students will need access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection.

When you successfully complete this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

• HLTAID014 – Provide advanced first aid

• HLTAID015 – provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy

In line with the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines:

• First aid certificates should be renewed every 3 years.
